Glasgow West Childcare Forum is committed to an inclusive integrated and comprehensive range of childcare services. These services will be of a high quality, affordable and accessible to meet the needs of families and the wider community in the West of Glasgow.
The Glasgow West Childcare forum provides a medium for childcare providers, parents, and other bodies involved in childcare or children’s services in the west of Glasgow to meet, discuss issues affecting them and to formulate plans to address these issues.
The forum is part of the council’s childcare strategy and information department and they also fund the administration of the forum. In addition to supporting local childcare providers and parents, the forum is required to comment on applications by childcare providers for funding from the Childcare Strategy Fund.
Our objectives are;
- To support current childcare providers in improving service provision.
- To create a wide and meaningful local partnership including parents, childcare providers, and other relevant agencies.
- To monitor and understand supply and demand for childcare services.
- To prepare a strategy that will support and provide long term funding to achieve sustainability.
- To develop appropriate strategic links city-wide with the Childcare Partnership, Community Planning, Health and Social Work.
